The Sea- Soundwaves & Sonar.
"Every moment of everyday, living beings are exposed to sound and vibration."

Sound Environments
Sound frequencies are audible to humans from 20Hz- 20,000Hz[1].
In various, natural environments there are many differences between how sound travels, for example, water is an extraordinary conductor of sound waves. Moreover, marine creatures rely on natural sonar to navigate the vast oceans. Besides navigation, undersea creatures, such as whales and dolphins, utilise echolocation to communicate. Sound travels rapidly over great distances in the ocean, with speeds reaching approximately five times faster than travelling through the air.
Waves generated by the ocean have been observed to have a frequency cycle of around 12 cycles per minute. This coincides with the breathing rate of a sleeping human! This is another reason why the sea is so calming.
[1] Hertz meaning, the number of cycles per second or the measurement of sound waves.

Underwater Vibration
Whether you are under the ocean or beside the sea, natural sounds and frequencies help to calm states of stress. The gentle lapping of water, or the sound of the waves reaching the shoreline are both soothing, balancing and promote a sense of wellbeing.
As diving has been a recent pastime of mine, I am acutely aware of underwater sounds and have observed changes in behaviour of marine life when the loud rumbling of a boat or jet ski passes by.
Music to calm us
The Sea, is an instrumental piece which was inspired by whale song and wave frequencies. The slow rhythmic tempo, whale and dolphin sounds, as well as the natural sound of waves, help to induce slow breathing and alpha states.
Whether you are creating the music or simply listening to it, the sounds, textures and tones of the music have significant effects on body, soul and spirit.
Consider the following ideas to bring calmness with the help of music and natural environments,
Spend time within a forest or beside the sea. Listen to music with natural sounds such as whale-song and ocean waves.
Consider what instruments and tempo you gravitate towards when you are relaxing or meditating.
Listen to instrumental music that calms the nervous system, like the The Sea attached below.
